Congratulations to anyone that may have popped the question over the festive period.

Whether you are new to engagement or have been engaged a while, the new year stands as the perfect time to get your thinking cap on and start planning.

January is a bit of a strange month, for many it drags and becomes a bit of a lull in the year. Don’t let that be the case for you. Use the cold weather and extra time to your advantage and get into full blown wedding planner mode.

It is not just you that is enjoying some quiet after Christmas, you will find that many venues have more time on their hands too. We here at The Gallery cannot wait for the flood of enquiries from people considering us as their wedding venue and now with all the Christmas Parties out of the way, we are more frequently able to show you our function room and show you what we can offer you.

Your venue is just the start of your list though. It would be criminal to not take advantage of all the January sales out there at the moment. Although January is not always the best time for sales in Wedding Dresses, there are deals to be found and the list does not end with a Wedding dress, think big and small about things you could get out of the way in this sale time. A few ideas off the top of my head are:

  • Bridesmaid’s dresses
  • Suits
  • Decorations
  • Bridesmaid’s & Usher’s gifts
  • Entertainment deals (Photo booths, chocolate fountains etc.)
  • Centre pieces
  • Favours

And all that searching around and shopping is bound to leave you with a few ideas to add to your gift list as well!

Start with the crucial detail – the date. Picking a date automatically leads you to a million other questions but also narrows down your options and choices a lot. Once you have a date you have a base to start everything else from, you know when you need it. With this in mind, have a look around for Wedding Fayres. There are hundreds of Wedding Fayres out there, and they give you a chance to look at every single detail of you wedding in one place.

If you start planning at the beginning of the New Year you will be prepared for all the Spring Wedding Fayres which are usually in February or March. By knowing a bit about what you want, what you expect to pay for it and when you want it you should be able to consolidate the majority of your wedding plans whilst at one of the Fayres.

For our Nottingham readers out there a couple of Wedding Fayre to keep your eyes open for are:save-the-date

Save the Date Wedding Fayre on Sunday 19th February 2017 at The Nottingham Conference Centre:  http://savethedateevent.co.uk/

And of course…

Good luck with all your planning and if you make it to one of the Wedding Fayres come and say hello to us!!
